  • I am grateful . . .
    - for the sunshine in the morning
    - perseverance
    - satisfaction that comes from a job well done
  • I am grateful . . .
    - forgiveness ... forgiveness from others helps me forgive myself when I mess up
    - friends
    - Wordle ... playing it with my husband every morning lately
  • I am grateful ...
    - for a relaxing day yesterday
    - a quiet morning today where I can think without distraction
    - the coming fall ... always feels invigorating, like I'm a young girl who knows school will be starting soon
  • I am grateful . . .
    - for the extra time my youngest son and I have been spending together lately
    - a lazy weekend
    - the energy I feel in the morning
  • I am grateful . . .
    - that I usually wake up before my alarm goes off
    - for colleagues at work who challenge me in a positive, helpful way
    - for the crisp mornings of August that lead to the change of seasons
  • Such wonderful things to be grateful for, Louise! Crisp mornings are my favourite  :)
  • I am grateful for . . .
    - the comfort and power of healthy routines
    - there is always something new to learn
    - playing Wordle with my husband every morning
  • I am grateful for ...
    - the long walk I took with my husband yesterday, good conversation
    - spending the evening with my family yesterday ... good food, card game and watched a movie together
    - vegetables ... in this complex world seems like vegetables are one of the few things everyone agrees are a good thing
  • in this complex world seems like vegetables are one of the few things everyone agrees are a good thing
So much truth to THIS! :star:
  • I am grateful ...
    - for the nice morning I just had with my husband ... drinking coffee, playing Wordle and then taking a nice walk in the cool morning sunshine
    - that I am becoming more clear about the next opportunity I would like to pursue in my work
    - my sister-in-law seems to have found a nice companion after many years of searching
  • I am grateful . . .
    - for the fresh perspective in the morning ... I recognized this morning that the constraint I feel in a particular area at work is one that I've self-imposed so I can remove it
    - for the unintentional extra hour of sleep last night, I guess I needed it ... maybe that's why I had the epiphany explained above :)
    - sitting outside in the backyard last evening reading a book ... then joined by my husband ... then the neighbors ... then our 2 sons. Turned into quite the little party for a short while. Nice change of pace for a Wednesday evening.
  • @LouiseStrong how nice to have such a gathering on a midweek night! Sounds like fun!
  • I am grateful . . .
    - that my 14 year old son liked his new back-to-school backpack ... as children get older they get harder to delight so I savor it all the more
    - unplanned dinner out with my husband last night
    - every morning is a fresh start ... I've been eating INSANEly largely due to work stress, recommitting to take care of myself today
  • - every morning is a fresh start ... I've been eating INSANEly largely due to work stress, recommitting to take care of myself today
@LouiseStrong I love that you have this awareness and recognise each day is an opportunity.  I completely understand how it feels with regard to work stress and how it impacts on SANE eating; I hope that the stress eases off for you soon.
  • I am grateful ...
    - for the pleasure and learning that comes from reading or listening to books
    - great workout yesterday, felt all my muscles this morning
    - delicious asparagus for dinner last night ... sauteed in my cast iron skillet for 10 minutes with olive oil, butter, garlic, salt and pepper ... really yum
  • I am grateful . . .
    - for a fairly SANE eating weekend, much better than the past several :)
    - for the lovely long walk in the gentle rain yesterday
    - that my husband likes our new firm mattress. I'm not so sure yet but he has more aches and pains than I do so very glad he likes it.
  • I am grateful . . .
    - that I'm going into the office this week. I generally prefer working from home but going in for some meetings this week is nice for a change. I find myself looking forward to it.
    - a better night sleep last night on the new firm mattress, better than the first night
    - slower pace at work lately, enjoying it while I can
  • I am grateful . . .
    - good day in the office yesterday. Even though we went out for lunch I ate SANEly :)
    - saw some friends I hadn't seen in a while, so enjoyable
    - my stress has gone down and my feeling of control has gone up
  • I am grateful . . .
    - that I get to work from home the rest of the week. It was very nice going to the office and seeing friendly faces but nice to return to my routine and home office today.
    - that there is a long weekend ahead.
    - my son is ready for his first day of highschool today
  • I am grateful . . .
    - my son's first day at highschool went well
    - delicious dinner of porkchops, roasted sweet potatoes and brocolli last night, we were all so hungry ... always tastes best when you're really hungry
    - that I am paying better attention to how my body responds to what I eat and drink. I am now keenly aware that even one glass of alcohol impacts me the next day ... I have less energy and less optimism.
  • I am grateful . . .
    - the long weekend is here
    - for the delicious salmon we had for dinner last night
    - the new Game of Thrones prequel is out, such an engaging escape
  • I am grateful . . .
    - for the very productive day yesterday ... I finally cleaned out the basement storage area that has been bothering me for months
    - that today is a holiday, totally relishing an extra day for me
    - to be learning more about meditation, trying now to make it a habit
  • I am grateful . . .
    - for another productive day yesterday ... we hung up several pictures that had been sitting in the basement, cut up vegetables for the week and made Curried Butternut Squash & Pear Soup https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/189936/curried-butternut-squash-and-pear-soup/  (I leave out the cream and replace with 1/2 teaspoon of guar gum)
    - nice long walk in the sunshine that I took yesterday
    - that I feel refreshed, restored and ready to get back to work after the long weekend

  • I am grateful . . .
    - habits ... I've been reading the book "Atomic Habits" by James Clear and am encouraged by some of the methods he suggests for developing new habits
    - productive day at work yesterday ... not boring nor chaotic, just right
    - my home office ... my own little room, just for me with my favorite little things. It's been more than 30 years since I've "had my own room" and after much prodding from my husband I finally turned our dining room (that we never used) into my office. It's been more than 6 months now and I love it more every day, thank goodness my husband kept after me to do it. It reminds me of a book I read in college (that I never thought much of at the time) ... "A Room of One's Own" by Virginia Wolf
  • @LouiseStrong  I’m happy for you to have your own office space and that you had such a good day at work yesterday!  Happy hump day to you, half way to the weekend!
  • I am grateful . . .
    - Colleagues at work whom support me and teach me
    - enjoying dinner with my family (tilapia last night)
    - that it's time to order fire wood for the season ... love to have a wood burning fire in the fireplace in winter
  • I am grateful . . .
    - for a good night's sleep
    - for the first sip of coffee in the morning
    - a whole day ahead of me with nothing but opportunity
