  • Today I am grateful for:
    1. Lemons picked straight from the tree
    2. Knee high boots to keep my leggies nice and warmly
    3. Peanut Butter (I know I know, it's not the SANEst thing, but couple of tablespoons of the stuff in my green smoothie has saved me from the various peanut butter/snickers milkshakes that have been coming across my path lately!)
  • Today I am grateful for:
    1. Microphones
    2. Armin Van Buuren
    3. Lady Vintage's Lady Voluptuous Clothing Range
  • @Raina_SANECoach  I'm so impressed you can remember that many days back.  I'm lucky to remember what I was happy about yesterday lol.   Checked out the new coat link...gorgeous!
  • @LynnetteStork  Ahaha, I actually quite like sitting and reflecting - though admittedly, sometimes I consult sent emails and the activity log on Facebook/photos I took on my phone to help jog the ol' memory ;)

    Today I am grateful for:

    1. Long, luxurious sleep ins
    2. Piping hot bowls of mushroom soup
    3. My Himalayan Salt Lamps.  I don't think much of the 'health' claims, but BOY they are prettyful.
  • Today I am grateful for:
    1. Walnuts
    2. Instagram
    3. Recipe accidents that come together beautifully
  • Glad to know someone else has a thing for peanut butter @Raina_SANECoach (from 6/13).  I haven't started baking with alternative flours, etc. and so my go-to foods I crave are peanut butter or almond butter and greek yogurt (the 2 together work pretty yummy).  Eating more leafy greens has not registered in my brain yet.  Maybe tomorrow? lol
  • @DonnaWilson  I just polished off a peanut butter hot chocolate, hehe! As much as I like almond butter and cashew butter, the flavour of peanut butter is just mmmmmmmm-mm!  :D

My favourite SANE peanut buttery dessert is this one! -->  http://program.sanesolution.com/cook/peanut-butter-mousse/

Very similar to what you describe, just a bit more fancy  ;)

It's not as SANE as a green smoothie, though I'm still having those and a little bit of peanut butter here and there is more SANE than going and buying a bulk packet of Snickers
  • @Raina_SANECoach  I think I've seen that recipe.  Lucky you to be able to have chocolate/cocoa.  I gave it up to avoid caffeine due to a. fib so peanut butter is the last of the "treats" which I thought I'd have to give up (b/c of the fats) to keep the cholesterol down.  Tis a twisted mess to have medical issues dictate the demise of what you've trained yourself to love.  I'm looking forward to the time when it just won't matter like @JonathanBailor and the other coaches have talked about.  Thanks for being in touch.
  • @DonnaWilson and @Raina_SANECoach i had to jump on the peanut butter discussion :) I am not the biggest fan of peanut butter (i don't hate it or love it).  However, I always keep some on handy in case my smoothie concoction gets out of hand.  A little bit of peanut butter makes the whole thing taste like peanut butter, which covers any accidental odd flavors in my smoothie (cabbage cores i am looking at you), lol
  • Yesterday I was grateful for:
    1. My Lady Vintage Damask Delight Dress
    2. Compression Socks
    3. Microphones

    Today I am grateful for:
    1. Ezibuy
    2. The lovely Skype session I had with my friend in Sweden this morning
    3. Labneh
  • Today I am grateful for:
    1. Peanut Butter Green Smoothies (clearly my current hankering for Snickers has not yet been abated)
    2. The sweet chirping of sparrows
    3. Trevor Noah
  • @Raina_SANECoach Trevor Noah is pretty awesome!

  • @JenniferRose A colleague of mine is South African and introduced me to his work before he got the job on The Daily Show, I may or may not have been watching a few episodes of it when I was meant to be working. *cough*  :D
  • @Raina_SANECoach hahahahaha! Love it!!
  • Today I am grateful for:
    1. Winter - I'm in New Zealand so, opposite to those of you who are experiencing Summer right now.  I get the less common form of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) during Summer, so I take joy in the fact that right now, I am as far away as I can get from that time of year.   To read about what I experience, here: http://www.webmd.com/depression/summer-depression

    2. The most recent episode of This American Life - 'Tell Me I'm Fat'.  Incredibly moving, powerful episode.  My eyes definitely got misty on more than one occasion.

    3. Coconut Scented Body Butter

  • Today I am grateful for:
    1. The rhythm of steady rainfall at night
    2. The fact that people tolerate my sass ;)
    3. My Kitchen Rules - the fact that my Dad and I can be up on our feet yelling at the TV saying "DON'T PLATE THE DUCK THE DUCK IS RAW PUT IT BACK IN THE OVEN" is an experience I enjoy massively  :D (even if my Mum thinks we're both nuts)
  • Today I am grateful for:
    1. The energy I felt when I got out of bed this morning
    2. The office dishwasher
    3. The catchup that I will be having with my friend tonight - she begged me to make the SANE Peanut Butter Mousse even though she knows nothing about SANE! #winning
  • This one time I made a SANE chocolate topping for the peanut butter mousse when I was having company over.  It seemed so fancy!  I didn't tell anyone that it was actually good for them ;)
Sometimes when we have friends over they seem to hold back on eating.  I think it's that whole "diet mentality".  I know for a fact it's not because i don't serve enough food (pretty much the smallest amount I can cook for other people is army size lol).  It must be in their heads.  Sometimes my husband feels bad that people are serving themselves "sensible" portions or only having a "nibble" of dessert.  Then he tries to convince them that all the food is good for them (which it is), but he is not the best at articulating the science.  It turns into an awkard mess :O LOL!  So I have trained him to say a few key words "grain free... sugar free.... high protein... unprocessed... completely homemade....' and to leave it at that ;)  It is so sweet that he gets excited about it though (winning!).

Oooooooo aren't you clever! For this friend, I will sprinkle some cacao nibs and hazelnuts over the top of it, that's fancy enough (she'll inhale it anyway, and will lick the bowl, ahahaha).

It's so interesting the psychology behind peoples food selections - I know that I have been guilty of the same thing, not so much due to diet mentality I think, but more due to fear of judgement. "Oh look at the fat one, she's eating, what a surprise."  It's sweet that Nate tries to convince them to eat without fear and that the food is good for your friends! :)
  • Today I am grateful for:
    1. The sweet members that bought me coffee (twice!) after teaching my class this morning
    2. Clean bedsheets
    3. Lady V London's discount code this weekend that allowed me to buy this dress: http://ladyvlondon.com/Mid-Summer-Night-Floral-Lyra-Dress/#.V24CDrh9670
  • @Raina_SANECoach that dress is so pretty!!!!!!
  • @Raina_SANECoach what a beautiful dress!  I love the style and I bet it will look FABULOUS on you!  ENJOY!

  • @Wednesday_SANECoach @LindaBaier Next time I wear it I'll put a photo up!
  • Today I am grateful for:
    1. The sweet little fantails that flit around my place and chirp to their hearts content.  A Fantail is a bird that is smaller than a sparrow that is native to New Zealand, here is an existing youtube video of how its chirp sounds.
    2. The sausages that the supermarket near one of the gyms I teach at sell that are 100% meat and spices - no added sugar or starches!
    3. Thai Green Curry Paste
  • I really like the dress! The one thing I'm curious about is why the different dress sizes have different dress lengths. I don't quite get clothes sizing.

The fantail is such a cute bird. My favorite bird in my neighborhood is the catbird, named after the sound they make. They will talk and talk and talk. I even talk back to them. I'm sure my neighbors think I'm crazy, but having had pet birds for years, I know how smart they are and that they understand more that people realize.

@Lori_SANECoach You know I thought of you in particular as I shared the Fantail video, I thought you would like it! Eeeeee the catbird is so sweet! (and hah, I talk back to the birds as well, I ain't bothered if people think I'm mad).

    Today I am grateful for:
    1. The beautiful episode of Strangers that I listened to while getting ready
    2. The time I spent on the sofas at the gym with my green smoothie after my workout
    3. @Wednesday_SANECoach , just for being her! <3 (note: the term 'garlicinfranette' might be related to this gratitude...)
  • Oh man I am blushing so much!! LOL

    Today I am grateful for:
    1. Swedish House Mafia
    2. Anti flamme cream with peppermint essential oil
    3. This Vine clip:

  • Today I am grateful for:
    1. The microwave at the gym - in order to make my post-evening class routine as SANE as possible, I experimented with eating my dinner at the gym before going home as I am likely to attack a whole roast chicken from the supermarket en route to my place otherwise.  I made the gym foyer smell like green curry, mmmmmmm.
    2. The beautiful members who attended my class - I was giving myself a hard time as I didn't feel like I had taught very well, I felt frustrated and annoyed. Then I went to the front desk and reception had received wonderful feedback about the class, then while I sat and ate my dinner more of them approached me to let me know how much they had enjoyed it too :)
    3. @Lori_SANECoach - Happy Birthday!!  This clip is for you, my friend <3<3<3
